Julian Weaver is an artist who works primarily with sound. His work focuses on matter, substance and sensing in scientific, and historical, imaginaries and fictions.
Water is a regular component of his practice which ranges from bubble acoustics and seaweed’s extractive economies to the charting of hydrogen isotopes in nuclear fusion, from remaking the cold water cures of Hydropathy to exploring the English Channel as a site of nausea.
His recent work includes the installation Nearly Present (Full of Noises, Acoustic Commons, 2022), project partner: Listening Across Disciplines (AHRC, 2019-22), and commissioning curator: Power to the People exhibition (EUROfusion, 2019-21).
Julian appears at Zero Parameters as part of an artist exchange between Sound Art Brighton and ame in Huddersfield. This event is supported by Outlands Network Exchange Programme, a new initiative set up to develop collaborations between its members across England.
