Sound Treasure Hunt

Sound Art Brighton ran a Sound Treasure Hunt as part of the sound and music events at the Ecomusicology Project for Stanmer Organics’ Open Day 2026.

Eleven sound treasures were hidden in the leafy green around the plot for visitors to find. Discovering unlikely QR codes tacked onto tree trunks, resting on benches and hanging in bushes, people can unlock melodies and soundscapes with their phones and listen while wandering through the pleasant natural environs of the plot.

The locative installation will remain a permanent feature on the site, while the sounds behind the codes might mysteriously change as time goes by.
