Phoenix Art Space is a dynamic arts organisation located in the centre of Brighton.
Established as a charity in 1995, it promotes a wide range of contemporary art and creative projects. Its five-storey building houses 100 affordable artist studios and two public galleries. Phoenix runs an annual schedule of c.15 free exhibitions, thematic talks and presentations – as well as a wide community events programme, including family fun days, short courses and drop-in workshops.
In the spirit of diversity, Phoenix has opened its doors to sound works and sound presentations in the last decade, seeking new ways to present sound-based work; for example, the On Sound series on Wednesdays at Phoenix and the Brighton Arts Lab.
