Nightwork
by Kersten Glandien
An audio portrait of Australian-American zoomusicologist and musician Dr Hollis Taylor and her field work on the night song of the pied butcherbird, one of the oldest songbirds on our planet. We learn of her musical approach to the subject and hear both the bird’s own mesmerising solo performances and their integration into Taylor’s own compositions.
Dr Hollis Taylor interviewed by Kersten Glandien in Alice Springs, Central Australia, October 2024.
